Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (Nov. 9, 2021) – Jack Dover chose a different path in 2021, focusing on an opportunity to race 410ci winged sprint cars and filling in the open dates with his 360ci sprint car program.

“I’m grateful to Rick and Chris Bowers for the opportunity,” he said. “We just wanted to get better each week and contend for top 10s by the end of the season. It was pretty awesome to battle for top fives and top 10s from the start and to get my first 410 win. We definitely beat our expectations.”

Dover drove the Bowers’ No. 81 during all of the shows at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D. It marked the first time since 2007 that Dover has raced regularly in the 410 division, but that didn’t slow him down as he earned his first career 410 feature victory en route to a fourth-place finish in the championship standings.

“Considering we hadn’t ran a season of 410s since 2007 it felt like we’d really never ran 410s,” he said. “We went out and tried our hardest, competing with Justin Henderson and Austin McCarl and guys who make the A Main at the Knoxville Nationals. The next step in 410s is getting more consistent when we go to other tracks and when we’re racing with the World of Outlaws.”

Dover and the team made the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series main event during the AGCO Jackson Nationals finale hosted by Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., and he recorded his best World of Outlaws result in approximately five years at Huset’s Speedway.

Dover added five wins in his No. 53 sprint car, including the opening night to the Steve King Memorial at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kan. He was also victorious during a Midwest Sprint Touring Series event at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa, and he captured three triumphs at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., en route to winning the track championship.

“I’d say it was a decent year, but running the 410 stuff kind of hurt the No. 53 car,” he said. “We were trying some setup stuff and it’s completely different between 410s and 360s. It’s also hard sometimes to go back and forth. That’s where I struggled a little, but overall I was pleased with how the year went in the No. 53.”

Dover also earned his best Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour result in approximately five years. Additionally, he placed third in the MSTS championship standings and eighth in the Midwest Power Series standings despite missing multiple races with both series.

“Wherever we went we were consistent and we were able to compete with the national guys when we raced with them a couple of times,” he said. “We’re happy with the success that we had this year and grateful to all of our partners who continue to stick with us.”
