Inside Line Promotions – AVON, Ind. (July 16, 2019) – A pair of Swindell SpeedLab eSports Team drivers have ascended to the top of the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series championship standings after an exciting iRacing feature Monday at Eldora Speedway.
Kendal Tucker captured a runner-up result and Blake Cannon produced a fifth-place run to highlight the performance by the team, which showcased six drivers inside the top 13.
Tucker won a heat race and hustled to his third straight top five result during the fourth round of the 10-race series.
“I just knew that if I was going to be able keep up with (Dylan) Houser right there I was going to have to follow right in his footsteps,” he said during a post-race interview with the iRacing eSports Network. “I was pounding (the cushion) it for all it was worth, but he’s pretty good at pounding it here at Eldora. If he would have slipped up, just tagged the wall just one time, we would have been right there. I’m pretty happy just to be able to survive that race.”
Tucker ranks second in the championship standings behind Cannon, whose fifth-place finish guided him to the top of the standings.
Teammates Adam Elby scored an eighth-place result from 16th and James Edens earned a ninth-place finish. Blake Matjoulis, who ranks fifth in the championship standings, hustled from 19th to 12th and Matthew McKinney was 13th.
Round 5 of the series is next Monday at Volusia Speedway Park.
