Inside Line Promotions – LONGDALE, Okla. (Sept. 13, 2017) – Longdale Speedway will host its season championships and FFA night this Saturday when champions will be crowned in each of its four classes.
Hunter McDonald of Oakwood leads the IMCA modifieds championship standings heading into the final night of racing. McDonald holds a 29-point lead over David Solberg and is 46 markers ahead of Barry Schievink. Cole Traugott is 66 points from the lead and Jessie Hoskins rounds out the top five.
Traugott is the only driver with multiple wins in the division this year with five feature victories.
In the IMCA stock cars, Landon Maddox of Fairview holds a slim 11-point lead over Sharon’s Travis Baird. Third-place Ryan Bohnstedt is only 12 points back while Larry Baird is in fourth, trailing by 60 points. Lance Waddell is 81 points behind Maddox.
Baird, Traugott and Willie Smith each have two wins with Maddox also picking up a victory.
The points race in the IMCA sport mods division is even closer with Mike Roach of Woodward currently only three points ahead of Joe Adams of Drummond. Hunter McDonald is 36 points back in third, while Daylon Bergeron trails by 42 points in fourth and Brandon Kenny is 80 points back in fifth.
Roach and Adams each have four feature victories this year while Kenny has picked up a pair of wins.
A pair of Hennessey drivers pace the pure stocks with Tyler Scruggs maintaining a 28-point lead over Brian Byrd. Alex Fennema is 36 points back in third while Tommy Bohnstedt trails by 45 and Skylar McCall by 68.
Hesston Shaw has three pure stock feature wins while Scruggs, Byrd and Kellen Downing each have a pair of victories.
Admission for Saturday is only $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and military with children ages 12 and younger free. FFA members wearing their FFA jackets will be admitted free.
Racing begins at 7 p.m.
While this Saturday is the final regular season point race, two weekends of racing remain on the track’s schedule for this year. The Darren Ernst Memorial will be held on Sept. 29 and the Iron Man Winter Nationals will close out the season Oct. 13-14.
