Format Announced for Darren Ernst Memorial and Iron Man Challenge at Longdale Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – LONGDALE, Okla. (Aug. 23, 2016) – One of the biggest weekends of the season at Longdale Speedway is only a little more than one month away.

The 2nd annual Darren Ernst Memorial pays $3,000 to win the final night of the two-day IMCA sport mod main event on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 with $3,000 on the line that same weekend for IMCA modifieds during the Iron Man Challenge.

The action begins on Thursday, Sept. 29, with an open practice from 6-9 p.m. Pit passes are $30 apiece.

Single-car qualifying will open the competition on Friday, Sept. 30, in both the IMCA sport mod and modifieds classes. Drivers will then compete in an eight-lap heat race to line up the 20-lap, 24-car A Main that will lock the top eight finishers into a bracket race on Saturday, Oct. 1.

The final day of racing will showcase Last Chance Qualifiers to determine the ninth through 23rd starting positions in each main event. The 24th starting position will be auctioned off in each class beginning at $500.

Each A Main will feature two, 30-lap segments with a 15-minute pit stop on the frontstretch in between. Any adjustment will be allowed, including tires and fuel.

Drivers will be competing for 3,000 to win, $1,500 for second, $1,000 for third, $800 for fourth and $750 for fifth in both classes. Each main event pays $300 to start.

Also, there are many bonuses throughout the weekend, including $100 for the fast qualifier in each class and $100 for the hard charger in each class.

The Sept. 30 features pay $550 to win and $50 to start. The winner of the bracket race on Oct. 1 receives $400 with second place earning $300, third place $200 and fourth place $100.

There is a $150 entry fee for every driver.

Adult tickets are $15 per night. Tickets for seniors and military members are $12 each night with children ages 6 to 12 only $5 per night. Children ages 5 and younger get in free.

Longdale Speedway is also offering a two-day event ticket, which is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and military members and $5 for children ages 6 to 12.

The front gate and pit gate will both open at 4 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m. both nights.

Longdale Speedway is a semi-banked, 3/8-mile clay oval located in Longdale, Okla. Longdale features a gravel pit area off of the backstretch with a concrete viewing area.
