Inside Line Promotions – CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (Oct. 27, 2014) – Danny Lasoski had a strong debut for Big Game Motorsports last weekend during the $15,000-to-win Open Wheel Championships at Atomic Speedway.

Lasoski kicked off the Renegade Sprints season finale on Friday by qualifying fourth quickest out of the 53 competitors at the high-banked track.

“I left a lot on the table,” he said. “I didn’t attack turns three and four like I should have. It was a fine line from hitting it right and disaster.”

That lined the Big Game Treestands car up on the outside of the second row of a heat race. Lasoski spent the first half of the race battling for one of the three lock-in positions before he made a late-race bid for the lead.

“The race track was in very good shape,” he said. “You had options. We put the wing back and really started rolling the last four laps. Wherever the leaders were I was going the opposite. I was railing the top in turns one and two and making good momentum down the backstretch.”

Lasoski completed a last-lap pass to pick up the heat race victory, which locked him into the $1,000-to-win dash on Saturday.

The Big Game Treestands team redrew a two during the dash draw on Saturday to earn the outside front row for the start of the dash. Lasoski maintained the runner-up position throughout the race, which lined him up second for the 40-lap feature.

Lasoski took the lead once the green flag was waved and he set a solid pace in front of the field for the first dozen laps. However, as the track slicked off and traffic came into play, Dale Blaney maneuvered into the lead.

“When it really got slick I lost a majority of the drive I had,” Lasoski said. “I went quite a bit slower. We have to work on the balance when it gets slick.”

The Big Game Treestands car ran second for the remainder of the race.

“We’re not happy because we didn’t win,” Lasoski said. “We’re all about winning. Running second is not what we wanted, but we’re glad we were in contention out of the box.”

Lasoski and the Big Game Treestands team will take this weekend off before finishing the season Nov. 6-8 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., for the World Finals with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series.

“I’m very optimistic,” Lasoski said. “It was a very, very easy transition because Guy (Forbrook) and I worked together in the past. I knew exactly the kind of race car he was going to give me. Every time we got in the car last weekend we were better and better. I can’t thank Tod (Quiring) enough for the opportunity and the crew for working so hard.”
