Inside Line Promotions – WEST LEBANON, N.Y. (June 24, 2014) – Joe Trenca went for a wild ride last Saturday at Lebanon Valley Speedway.

Trenca flipped in the closing laps of his heat race, which ended his night early during the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints event at the fast track.

“This was my first time getting upside down in a sprint car,” he said. “It wasn’t that good.”

Trenca had advanced from fourth to second place on the opening lap of his heat race.

“By the first corner we were in second,” he said. “The leader pulled away on the initial start and got a lead. I never ran him down much and he never pulled away much.”

With only a couple of laps remaining, Trenca tried to close the gap.

“I went into turns three and four too hard, jumped the cushion and caught the right rear tire on the wall,” he said. “Then the front end came over. I think they said I flipped seven or eight times. The car is pretty much junk.”

Trenca was unable to compete for the remainder of the night and he will take this weekend off as the Mucci Motorsports team prepares for the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints Speedweek, which features five races in as many days July 2-6 throughout New York.

“We’ve got to put together two new cars for Speedweek so we’re going to take the weekend off and regroup,” he said.
