Inside Line Promotions – KANSAS CITY, Kan. (June 9, 2014) – Bad luck hampered Danny Lasoski during a pair of World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series races last weekend.

Lasoski qualified inside the heat race inversion on Friday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., and on Saturday at Lakeside Speedway before his night ended early at each track.

“When you race with the World of Outlaws it’s very, very important to qualify inside the inversion and to win a heat race to advance into the dash,” he said. “We qualified 10th quickest at I-80 and 11th quickest at Lakeside to start on the pole of a heat race each night.”

Unfortunately, Lasoski was unable to capitalize and he placed fifth in his heat race at I-80 Speedway.

“I-80 was driver error,” he said. “I hadn’t ran my new car all year. I left it too loose. That really cost us. I got it handed to me in the heat race.”

On Saturday, Lasoski ended second in his heat race.

“I just got outrun,” he said. “We had two shots at Brad Sweet and he drove away from us. It was really disappointing. We put ourselves in a position. We were on the pole of both of those heat races and we didn’t capitalize.”

Lasoski started on the inside of the sixth row in the main event each night.

“At I-80 Speedway I was racing Brian Brown and another driver for 8th, 9th and 10th,” he said. “All of a sudden I noticed my car was slowing down. There was a big boulder in my radiator so I hurt my motor.”

Lasoski was forced to pull in early after mud damaged his radiator. He was credited with an 18th-place result.

On Saturday, Lasoski exited the track in the opening laps when his car broke a u-joint, giving him a 17th-place finish.

“I had Herzog Contracting Corp. on the side of my car and I think they had 11 representatives from the company there,” he said. “We wanted to put on a show for them and didn’t get the chance.

“I want to thank Dan Samford and Stan Herzog for the support and hopefully in the near future we can put them in Victory Lane. Also, thanks to John Proper with ProServ for everything he did.”

Lasoski is slated to compete this Friday at Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minn., for the Big Game Shootout Brought to you by Eyecon Cameras and Big Game Treestands and on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, for the Mediacom Shootout with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series.
