Inside Line Promotions – BROWNSTOWN, Ind. (June 3, 2014) – The schedule is about to heat up for Andrew Felker, who has nine races on his plate during the next two weeks.

Felker will pilot a midget for RW Motorsports during the four-race POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series Illinois SPEED Week this Thursday through Sunday before he competes in the five-race USAC Indiana Midget Week next week.

“I definitely have some big expectations as usual,” he said about the upcoming competition in Illinois. “Quincy is kind of an unknown, but at the other three tracks we have quite a bit of experience. It’s good to be a part of a professional program like RW Motorsports.”

The SPEED Week competition begins this Thursday at Quincy Raceways in Quincy before races on Friday at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln; on Saturday at Macon Speedway in Macon; and on Sunday at Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville.

As he gears up for a busy month of racing, Felker is coming off a pair of top 10s last weekend during the Ford EcoBoost Challenge with the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series.

Last Friday at Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, Ind., Felker finished fifth in his heat race. That relegated him to the B Main, where he placed fifth to earn a transfer to the back of the main event.

“We snuck into the show and threw the kitchen sink at it in the feature,” he said. “We tried something different than what we’ve ever done with the car.”

The changes worked as Felker advanced from 21st to 13th in the first three laps. He drove into eighth place with approximately 10 laps remaining in the main event.

“By that point everybody was parked on the bottom and I couldn’t make the moves to get by them,” he said.

Felker finished with an eighth-place result.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at Brownstown Speedway, where Felker won his heat race from the pole position. That started him on the outside of the fourth row for the main event.

“The bottom was good for a couple of laps,” he said. “I got back to the top and committed to running there.”

Felker spent the majority of the race competing for a top five before ending with a sixth-place finish.

It marked his 12th top 10 of the season.
