Inside Line Promotions – AUBURN, Calif. (Feb. 19, 2014) – Cole Wood Racing is thrilled to announce that SpeedMart has joined its program for the 2014 season.
“This past offseason we got a chance to sit down with SpeedMart owner Barry Martinez and talk about partnership opportunities for the 2014 season,” Cole Wood said. “Both CWR and Barry agreed that we could both benefit from SpeedMart joining the team and everybody is really excited. That’s a pretty big opportunity to have people like the Martinez family come on board to support us.”
SpeedMart, which is a leading sprint car, midget and micro sprint parts distributor based in Burlington, Wash., has built a reputation that began in the Northwest. Now the company is looking to extend its reach across the country.
“We’ve been in business in the Northwest and served all the tracks out here,” Martinez said. “We’re looking to reach out to racers across the U.S. We’ve got a really good rapport with all the racers. We’re an international company so we mail and ship out daily overseas. We’re just looking to get out there a little further.”
Martinez said he watched Wood on and off the track last season and was impressed with the results as Wood garnered the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Rookie of the Year Award.
“We’re always excited to see new guys come up,” he said. “That’s what the sport is about and what keeps it vibrant and going forward. Cole has a lot of promise. I can see he’s definitely focused on his deal and he carries himself well.”
Wood and SpeedMart are slated to kick off the season Feb. 28 and March 1 at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
