Inside Line Promotions – LUBBOCK, Texas (Dec. 10, 2013) – While the offseason is filled with cold temperatures, Graves Motorsports driver Kolt Walker is staying warm with one particular memory.

“It was just one of those nights that was meant to be,” he said, recalling his lone feature victory from this past season. “It was just one of those nights where everything went right. It doesn’t happen very often.”

Walker is working hard before next season kicks off to set the team up to accomplish more of those magical nights that end in Victory Lane, like the one on July 6 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas.

“The car was a rocket that night,” he said. “We started in the back of our heat race and drove up to second. That got us in the redraw and we drew a three to start third.”

Walker advanced to the inside of the front row of the main event because the polesitter had to move to the back of the pack after swapping engines.

“The track was still in pretty good shape,” he said. “On a pretty good race track starting up front was a huge factor in that deal. We took off and led all of it. We had a few cautions, which bunched us back up. That was working out good for me because I didn’t have to get in lapped traffic. But it didn’t matter because the car was so good that night. We hit it on the spot.”

Walker cruised to the victory on the famed half-mile track during the ASCS Sooner Region vs. ASCS Lone Star Region event.

“We are working to set up this team owned by Donna and Jerry Graves to win more and more each season,” he said. “Hopefully next year we can outdo this year and then continue to improve the following season.”
