Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (Nov. 25, 2013) – It was more than just a learning season for Brandon Hahn.

“First off, I want to say it was a blast,” he said. “It was a big, big learning experience. I went to so many different race tracks and raced with so many guys. By doing that you are bound to get better and I think we got better. If I could sum up my season in two words I would say learning struggle. It wasn’t easy by any means. I was trying to learn every race.”

Hahn did just that as he corralled a 10th-place result in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship standings during his first season on the premier 360ci series. Hahn earned three top 10s throughout the season, but it was a 12th-place finish that he credited as his highlight.

“I just think we had a really solid car and I felt really good that night,” Hahn said of his career-best Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour finish, which came at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash., on July 12.

“I felt like if I would have had some more laps under my belt at that point in time I think we would have had a top-five car. I think I just need more laps to be there with guys like Johnny Herrera, Jason Johnson and Jeff Swindell.”

The seat time Hahn recorded this season was valuable and he is excited to take the knowledge and confidence gained into next year on the tour.

“You go to so many different race tracks,” he said. “I think the biggest thing I learned was going to a new race track you can’t be timid. You see Jason going to a race track he hasn’t been and he acts like he’s been there his whole life. He charges the corner from the start.”

Hahn added that he is going to start a workout program this offseason to improve his strength and conditioning.

“I think that’s the thing I need to work on right now is being consistent with my laps,” he said. “I want to put 30 laps down and hang with those guys.”
