Inside Line Promotions – BURLINGTON, Wash. (Aug. 3, 2026) – Trey Starks produced his 15th podium performance of the season last Saturday at Skagit Speedway.
Starks qualified second quickest and advanced from fourth to third place in a heat race to advance into the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 4 to line up on the outside of the second row in the main event.
“We had good speed,” he said. “They got rain that morning so the track was pretty wet. We tried to adapt as well as we could.
“In the feature, it was one of those tracks where it almost got wetter and rougher throughout the night. It got pretty humid as the sun went down so you could feel the moisture come back up. We rode in fourth the first couple of laps. We got an early restart and I was able to pick off two cars in one corner. I went way above the holes and thought I found a lane that nobody else had. We had another caution a couple of laps later. I think (Justin) Sanders figured out what I was doing or somebody signaled him. When we fired off on the restart he entered on the top. I chased him for a few laps. About the midway point in the race I had a lapped car that had something wrong with the front end and looked like he was crashing right in front of me. I put the brakes on and Colton (Heath) got back by me. It ended up staying green so that shuffled us back to third. For the rest of the race I had to fight to get back to second. Coming to the checkered I got by him by just a nose to sneak back into second.”
It marked the fourth time this season that Starks placed second.
He now leads the 410 winged sprint car championship standings at Skagit Speedway by 135 points.
Starks is slated to take this weekend off before returning to Skagit Speedway on Aug. 15.
