Inside Line Promotions – LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Nov. 5, 2013) – Last weekend featured two drastically different nights for Brandon Hahn with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

Hahn kicked off the weekend on Friday at El Paso Speedway Park in El Paso, Texas, by dropping from fourth to fifth place in his heat race. That sent him to the B Main, which transferred the top six to the main event.

“I kinda got slid on the first corner,” he said of his heat race. “It was make your move on the first lap and then you got spread out. In the B Feature we just did not get a very good start. It was the same deal. Once you got spread out there wasn’t much you could do because it was so heavy. I just pulled off there to keep less time on our motor.”

After Hahn failed to advance to the main event, the team hauled to Southern New Mexico Speedway for Saturday’s race.

“We had a solid night in Las Cruces,” he said. “(The track) was the exact same thing. It was uncharacteristically locked down. You get what you could get on the start. I happened to get the inside guy and picked up some passing points there and it was enough to get us in the A Feature.”

Hahn drove from fourth to third place in his heat race, which earned him a spot in the main event. He was scheduled to start on the inside of the sixth row, but was moved up a couple of rows because of a number of cautions at the start of the 30-lap feature.

“It sure was wild,” he said. “When we finally went green flag racing we kinda spread out. I was running eighth and racing with Johnny (Herrera). I got over the race track in (turns) three and four and had to gather it back up and lost a lot of positions there. I had to fight my way back up there.”

Hahn rallied to record a 13th-place result.

“I’m not too disappointed,” he said. “It could have been better, but at least my stuff is in one piece.”

He is slated to wrap up the season this weekend with Rounds 3 and 4 of the Cocopah Cup Challenge at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“The mindset is pretty good right now,” he said. “I like that place and seem to run pretty good there. I don’t think it’d be an unrealistic expectation to make the feature both nights.”

Hahn made the main event both nights at Cocopah Speedway with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour in March.
