Inside Line Promotions – MYERSTOWN, Pa. (Nov. 6, 2013) – Brent Marks is embarking on his final road trip of the season this weekend when he tackles The Dirt Track at Charlotte for the first time in his career.

Marks is headed to Concord, N.C., for the 7th annual World Finals with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series at the unique, 4/10-mile track Thursday through Saturday.

“We’re very excited,” he said. “The whole team is excited to get there and see what we can do. Charlotte is going to be a different track for us. Hopefully we will learn a lot and take some good notes from it.”

Marks said the goal is to make the main events on both Friday and Saturday – Thursday is a qualifying only night – and to get as many laps as possible. It also doesn’t hurt that the track is located in the middle of NASCAR country with a lot of eyes on this weekend’s event.

“That’s a big part of us going to these races,” he said. “I’ve always dreamed of going and we were able to make it a reality this year and show what we are capable of doing outside the local level. That’s our main goal, to show people what we are capable of and gain interest in us.”

Marks said he has spent just as much time studying videos of the track as he has working on his car in anticipation of the tricky surface.

“I’ve watched races in past years and I’ve been studying this week watching YouTube videos and as many in-car videos as I can to try to relate to the track,” he said. “I’ve been able to generating some different setups in my head to be competitive from the start. The track has big sweeping corners. I think going to Knoxville (earlier this season) will help us where we need to start from Charlotte. I brought my computer so we’re going to see if we can learn some more on the trip down.”

Marks has scored a career-best five wins, 22 top fives and 56 top 10s this season.
