Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (June 19, 2026) – Sheldon Haudenschild emerged victorious on Friday at Huset’s Speedway, where the final three laps of the 5th annual BillionAuto.com Huset’s High Bank Nationals preliminary night showcased a three-car battle for the win before a margin of victory of 0.094 seconds.

After three straight runner-up results this season during World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races at the high-banked oval, Haudenschild’s performance during the $20,000-to-win main event gave him his fourth career Series triumph at the track.

Haudenschild is atop the preliminary night points that set the stage for Saturday’s $300,000-to-win program, which provides a record payday for a World of Outlaws feature winner.

“It feels great,” he said. “I feel like I’m just focused on tomorrow, man. That’s all I want to win. But tonight was great. I lost a couple of spots there early. I just kinda had to ride it out and get patient. Once I got to second there I never saw the No. 1s. I knew I just had to hit my marks.”

Haudenschild dropped as far as eighth on Lap 4 before clawing his way forward. He cracked the top five on Lap 12 before gaining a position per lap on Lap 14 and Lap 15. Haudenschild took second on Lap 21 and erased a nearly two and a half second deficit to Logan Schuchart.

Schuchart, who led the first 29 laps of the 35-lap main event, was slowed in traffic in turn one on Lap 30. That provided just the opening Haudenschild needed to hit the bottom groove and get by both Schuchart and the driver Schuchart had been attempting to lap.

Two laps later, Schuchart closed within one tenth of a second and Donny Schatz reeled in the top two drivers, making it a three-car showdown for the final three laps. Schatz got by Schuchart on Lap 33 and used a huge momentum push running the top in turns three and four to close to Haudenschild’s rear bumper as the checkered flag waved with Schuchart only a few car lengths back.

“I missed the bottom coming to the checkered and had Donny right there,” Haudenschild said. “You can’t give Donny chances like that or he’ll eat them up. We’ve just been saying we’re going to keep running podiums, we’re going to win these races. It’s a team effort and we’re having a lot of fun right now. We’ll just keep ripping here.

“All is good, man. Thanks to all these fans that showed up. For sure the biggest crowd I think we’ve had the first two nights and for the Friday night here.”

Schatz’s second-place finish was his best result at Huset’s Speedway this season.

“These guys did an awesome job to get in this position,” he said. “We got the early part of the night down and now we’ve finished the end part of the night pretty well. We can build on that for tomorrow. The payday is pretty good tomorrow, but we sure could have used the trophy tonight to kinda help that along. Sheldon did a great job.”
Schuchart also produced his best outing of his four races at Huset’s Speedway this year with a third-place run.

“I just needed to get through some of the lapped cars a little better,” he said. “It just took me too long and then a lapped car changed lanes going into (turn) one and let Sheldon get by me. That could go a lot of different ways, a three-car race for the lead. We’re in a good spot to go after $300,000 tomorrow.”

David Gravel recorded a fourth-place finish and Spencer Bayston rounded out the top five.

Gravel and Bayston were quickest in their qualifying groups before Ryan Timms, Jacob Hughes, Kerry Madsen, Carson Macedo, Michael “Buddy” Kofoid and Terry McCarl captured heat race wins. Kaleb Johnson topped the C Main and Daison Pursley won the Last Chance Showdown.

Also of note, Haudenschild’s triumph snapped a record five-race winning streak at Huset’s Speedway for Kofoid, who hustled from 20th to seventh place in the main event.

Follow the Huset’s Speedway and World of Outlaws social media channels for the complete preliminary night points rundown as well as the heat race lineups for Saturday’s $300,000-to-win finale. The High Bank Bounty is also up for grabs, rewarding any driver who isn’t a full-time World of Outlaws competitor with a $100,000 bonus if he wins the main event. The main gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps slated for 7:30 p.m.
