Inside Line Promotions – BURLINGTON, Wash. (May 19, 2026) – Trey Starks kept his top-five streak to start the season alive with his fifth straight last Saturday at Skagit Speedway.

Starks opened the 410ci winged sprint car program by setting quick time during qualifying before he maneuvered from fourth to third place in a heat race.

“We started out the night good,” he said. “The track had a lot of rain leading up to it so we knew it’d be narrow and fast. We went quick time and finished third in the heat race. We got a good start and into third and then rode there. Then we drew the six out of six in the feature redraw so not so great there.”

Starks moved into fifth place on the opening lap. He advanced to third on Lap 3 and into the runner-up position on Lap 15.

“There was a pretty good bump going into turn one and depending on how you hit it it’d upset your car,” he said. “A couple of cars in front of me started bouncing and I stayed low enough to get by both to get into third. Then the two leaders got racing pretty good and second place bounced and spun around so that put us into second about the midpoint of the feature. Robbie (Price) was really fast in clean track. We had a couple of restarts, but I couldn’t get by him. It was going to take a mistake from him for us to pass him, but he ran a good race and we finished second.”

Starks currently ranks second in the 410 championship standings by eight points.

He is back to double duty at Skagit Speedway this Saturday, competing in both the 410ci winged sprint car and 360ci winged sprint car divisions. Starks is the current leader in the 360 championship standings by 44 points.

If all goes well on Saturday, Starks plans on wrapping up the weekend by racing at the Marvin Smith Memorial Grove Classic on Sunday at Cottage Grove Speedway in Cottage Grove, Ore.

“It’ll be busy with the two on Saturday and making the trek on Sunday, but that’s one of the bigger races in the Northwest and one of the ones we look forward to each year,” he said. “It should be a fun weekend.”
