Inside Line Promotions – MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (May 11, 2026) – Big Game Motorsports and David Gravel used a strong week in Central Pennsylvania to increase their lead in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series championship standings to 88 points.
The team posted a fourth-place finish last Tuesday during the Gettysburg Clash at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown followed by a third-place outing on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway. The week wrapped up with a victory on Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway during the HVAC Distributors Morgan Cup.
“It was a great week,” Gravel said. “We hit on all cylinders. We qualified lights out and got in the dash each night.”
Gravel timed in second quickest in his group at Lincoln Speedway before a win in both a heat race and the dash gave him the pole position for the 35-lap main event. He led the first 18 laps before he was briefly passed for the top spot on Lap 19. Gravel reclaimed the lead on the ensuing lap, but a caution came out to put him back to second for the restart.
“I felt good and we led quite a bit of laps in the feature,” he said. “I lost the lead and got it back, but an untimely red flag took the lead from us. We had an open red and the car didn’t refire like it did earlier. We didn’t make any changes. The tires were worn and it didn’t seem we had much grip after that open red so we lost a couple of positions.”
Gravel set quick time during qualifying and won a heat race both nights at Williams Grove Speedway. On Friday, he placed third in the dash before recording a podium in the main event.
“I got to second there and was right behind Kasey (Kahne),” he said. “I was biding my time to pick my spot and maybe wasn’t aggressive enough. The No. 23 and the No. 18 were all over me. Once I started racing with them it took me away from Kasey and I lost a position. From there I was hanging on to third. I felt we had a really, really good car for a majority of the race and started getting a little stagnant at the end.”
On Saturday, Gravel advanced from fourth to second place in the dash to start the main event on the outside of the front row.
“Our qualifying was unbelievable and really our dash set us up to win that race,” he said. “Just to get to second there was huge. I was able to get the jump in the A Main. I ran smooth, consistent laps. It’s always cool to win a race at Williams Grove and when it pays a little extra it’s even better.”
Gravel led the distance for his 10th career World of Outlaws win at the track. It was also the team’s fifth triumph of the season.
