Starks Rained Out Twice After Flying Across the Country to Face Outlaws

9/25/2013

Inside Line Promotions - SARVER, Pa. (Sept. 24, 2013) - If Trey Starks wanted to watch rain, he'd have stayed home in Washington.

Unfortunately, after flying across the country to compete with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series last weekend, Starks was rained out at the 4-Crown Nationals on Friday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, and at the Commonwealth Clash on Saturday at Lernerville Speedway.

"I could have watched it rain here," he said. "When we left Eldora it just started pouring. At Lernerville it was just steady rain. That same storm just followed us there."

Starks flew home on Sunday to spend this week in school before returning to the East Coast next weekend for a couple of races at tracks he has never competed on. Starks is scheduled to compete at the famed Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Friday.

"It's a pretty big track and obviously has a lot of history," he said. "It could be kind of intimidating, but we're just going to look at it like any other race track. Hopefully we adapt to it as well as Knoxville and Eldora, and if we do we should have some success."

The weekend will wrap up on Saturday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa.

"It looks like a cool track," he said. "I guess it's one of the smaller ones in Pennsylvania. I watched a couple of videos on it."
