Inside Line Promotions - KENNEDALE, Texas (Sept. 2, 2013) - John Binz ended on his side Saturday night at Kennedale Speedway Park.

Binz was caught up in an incident halfway through his heat race, which resulted in his mini sprint tipping over and parking him for the remainder of the event.

"My typical luck; no luck at all," he said.

Binz, who started on the outside of the third row during his heat race, had advanced to fourth place. He was making a pass on a lapped car on the frontstretch when that driver changed lines, moving into Binz near the flag stand.

"Third place lapped him coming off turn four," Binz said. "I was right there going to pass him on the straightaway. Right at the flag stand I tried to pass him and he slid up in front of me. It spiraled around and laid on its side. I ended up landing in turn one."

Binz was credited with a last-place finish - ninth - in his heat race and was anticipating a deep start in the feature before he saw the extent of the damage.

"I didn't think it was that bad until we got to the pits," he said. "It crushed the center section of the wing, the left side board and broke the motor mounts. We didn't get to start the feature, so that was frustrating."

He is slated to take this weekend off and is helping Travis Rilat compete on Saturday at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas, with the ASCS Gulf South Region.
