Inside Line Promotions – SWEDESBORO, N.J. (Oct. 5, 2023) – Joey Amantea logged valuable laps on Tuesday during his debut with the High Limit Sprint Car Series.

Amantea made only his third career 410ci winged sprint car start during the event at Bridgeport Motorsports Park.

“I felt like it was great,” he said. “I got some good, solid laps for myself, which was the whole goal for the night. We had no expectations besides to get some laps. It gives me a notebook of what to expect when we go back in three weeks for SprintOberfest.”

Amantea timed in 29th quickest overall before placing eighth in both a heat race and the B Main, missing a transfer into the main event by only four positions.

“A big thing is learning where to put my car,” he said. “All three tracks we’ve raced a 410 winged car, dirty air seems to react differently. It’s been a huge learning curve for me. I’m glad I’ve brough the car home in one piece all three nights.

“The biggest adjustment has been just the sheer speed of it. Not that you’re going slow in wingless, but you’re going so much faster with a wing on. You never slow down. That’s been difficult for me to get used to along with dirty air. But I’m learning with each lap.”

Amantea plans to take this weekend off before competing in both winged and wingless micro sprint action on Oct. 14 at Greenwood Valley Action Tracks in Orangeville, Pa.
