Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 8, 2022) – Garet Williamson produced a career-best performance at the 32nd annual 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank last weekend.

Williamson guided the Bryant Paver Motorsports No. 24 to a fourth-place finish during preliminary night action before recording a 14th-place result in the finale out of the more than 100 drivers competing at Knoxville Raceway.

“It was pretty good,” he said. “It was another solid year. We learned a lot and made good laps.”

The event began on Thursday with Williamson qualifying 12th quickest. He then made a last-lap pass in a heat race to garner a fourth-place finish, which was the final lock-in spot into the A Main.

“That was the difference in us being in a B Main on Saturday and us locking in,” he said. “We fell to fifth and were right there with the driver in fourth. He bobbled coming out of turn two on the last lap. I had a huge run. He closed the door going into turn three. Then we touched off turn four and luckily we had enough to get by.”

The feature inversion lined Williamson up on the outside of the front row for the 20-lap main event.

“We were really good in the A Main,” he said. “Without a couple of mistakes we would have been on the podium. I think it was a better fourth-place effort than last year’s. I think moving around at the wrong time and not at the right time is what cost us a spot or two.”

Williamson’s fourth-place outing tied his career-best preliminary night showing at the event. It was good enough to lock him into Saturday’s main event for the second straight year.

“We lined up 13th and cracked the top 10 fairly early, but I got tight as the race went on,” he said. “I didn’t make the changes I needed through the race to stay good. It was my own fault and we faded a few positions. We were happy with the overall performance and taking another step forward at Knoxville.”

Williamson was credited with a career-best 14th-place result on Saturday.
