Inside Line Promotions – MOUNT POCONO, Pa. (June 13, 2022) – Joey Amantea is excited to make his USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars debut this week.

Amantea plans to tackle the final five races of USAC Eastern Storm, running Wednesday at Bridgeport Motorsports Park in Swedesboro, N.J.; Thursday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa.; Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Saturday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa.; and Sunday at Bloomsburg Fairgrounds in Bloomsburg, Pa.

“The goal is just to make every show,” he said. “We’re not looking for anything spectacular, just to get more experience and laps. With the speed we’ve had in the 360 we’re looking for solid nights.”

Not only will this week mark Amantea’s debut with the series, it will be his first time racing a 410ci non-wing sprint car.

“One of the biggest things this week is it will give us more experience with guys who run for a living, with how hard I can push the car or anything along those lines,” he said. “Just the added experience that comes with running with the national tour will be so beneficial.”

Amantea has taken a step forward in 360ci non-wing action this year as he ranks fourth in the Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars Series championship standings thanks to five top fives and seven top 10s.

“It’s been a great year so far in the 360s,” he said. “Next year we want to go to Indiana Sprint Week and do more stuff with the USAC National Sprint Cars so hopefully we can put together a good week to build on.”
