Inside Line Promotions – MESQUITE, Texas (April 27, 2015) – Sam Hafertepe Jr. posted his best finish with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series this season last Saturday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway.

Hafertepe Jr. scored an eighth-place result during the Texas Outlaw Nationals, which marked his first top 10 with the premier sprint car series in a limited number of races since the Knoxville Nationals last August.

“It always feels great and is a confidence boost to run well with the World of Outlaws,” he said. “They are the best in the business so whenever you can be competitive it really helps your racing program.”

After Friday’s opening round of the event was rained out, Hafertepe Jr. kicked off Saturday’s race by qualifying sixth quickest – only one spot out of locking into the dash based on time. His fourth-place result in a heat race advanced him into the main event, which he started on the inside of the fifth row.

“Since the track was hit by a lot of rain throughout the weekend it was very fast all night,” he said. “We had a fast car, but so did almost everybody else.”

Hafertepe Jr. quickly maneuvered into sixth place before he lost a couple of positions while trying to make a move to crack the top five.

He is scheduled to compete this Saturday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., for the Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 Presented by MyRacePass with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour. Hafertepe Jr. finished sixth during the event last season.
