Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (June 9, 2025) – Kaleb Johnson capped a busy week with his fourth podium performance of the season on Sunday at Huset’s Speedway.

Johnson was quickest both overall and in his group during qualifying before he advanced from fourth to second place during a heat race. That earned the Team DGRD driver a spot into the feature redraw.

“We laid down a really good qualifying lap,” he said. “Once again, I felt I was in one of the tougher heat races, which is good. We were able to advance a couple of spots. It set us up for a decent spot in the feature.

“To be honest, I didn’t get a very good start. I think I fell back to seventh or eighth at one point. As the race went on the car got better and we were able to pick off people. I feel with maybe eight to 10 laps to go I got to the third-place car. I should have slid him a lap or two sooner. I waited too long and ended up getting passed. I got back to fourth and then to third, but by that time the white flag was coming out.”

Johnson’s third-place result marked his fifth top five at Huset’s Speedway this season, increasing his lead in the championship standings to 35 points. He is the only driver with a top-five outing during all five races the track has hosted this season.

Johnson also competed on Wednesday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. He timed in 11th quickest in his group before a crash in a heat race ended his night early.

“I got into a car barely going into turn one on the first lap,” he said. “It bent the drag link. After that the car was tough to drive. I kept getting super tight in turns (turns) three and four. With two or three laps to go I got super tight and before you knew it I was in the fence.”

This week showcases five races in six days for Johnson, who will compete on Tuesday at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., with Kubota High Limit Racing. He will then venture to 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, on Thursday to race with the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint Series. World of Outlaws races on Friday and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, follow with the weekend concluding on Sunday at Huset’s Speedway.

“I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “I’m really looking forward to getting out and racing more. Getting more laps and racing at different places is what I’m most excited for.”
